Held between 17 and 23 November 2025, Hong Kong Maritime Week 2025 marked a record-breaking turnout, attracting more than 18,000 participants from Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and around the world across over 50 industry and public events. The discussion explored how Hong Kong’s legal and regulatory system can strengthen the maritime industry’s decarbonisation and digitalisation journey while maintaining competitiveness and compliance with international standards. Drawing on his extensive experience in international arbitration, maritime and commercial disputes, and his policy role as a member of the HKMPDB, Mr. Liu analysed how robust dispute resolution mechanisms ensure the enforceability of ESG and climate?related contractual clauses in charterparties, financing, and shipbuilding agreements.
